About Pancreatic Cancer
The pancreas is an organ in the abdomen that makes enzymes that assist in digestion and helps to regulate hormones. Just like every other organ in the body, the pancreas generates new cells when old ones die, which keeps it running as it should. Sometimes something goes wrong with this process, so old cells either don’t die, or new cells are made when the body doesn’t need them. This creates a tumor.
About 150 people are diagnosed with pancreatic cancer every day, making it the 9th most common form of cancer in women and the 10th most common in men. Lizzy had symptoms for many years before officially being diagnosed. Click the button below to find out what the most common symptoms are, and how you can take action if you are experiencing these symptoms.
